USA is a country in North America which shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. Its capital is Washington D.C, and has the largest national economy in the world. It is one of the most culturally and socially diverse nation in the world. It has been a good support for many students to study here. The US hosts more international students than any other country in the world. These international students from every place in the world choose to study in the US because they believe that the education in US would afford them the best preparation for their future.

You have read about US, seen films and videos of US and talked to people from US. But only the experience of actually living in the US will give you the mastery of the language and sympathy with the culture that is necessary for understanding this large and influential country.

US universities are different from those of our country in various ways. Classes are generally small around ten to twenty students in a class. In classes, students are encouraged and expected to have a say to the discussion. The close relationship between students and faculty serves to motivate students and encourages a personal approach to the curriculum.

Education System:

An international student who decides on to take advantage of the US education system can practice anything from nuclear science to film and dance. Possibilities in US education are almost infinite.

The requirements for the admission in colleges in the US are GPA (Grade Point Average), TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, GRE etc. Most of the reputed colleges require GPA of more than 2.5. The students’ marks in Nepal can be easily converted into GPA. In some colleges, they are satisfied by the mark sheets with average of above 50%, i.e. they don’t ask for GPA. TOEFL marks should be more than 550 to get admission in the larger state universities and to get the visa easily.
